Thank you SO much, Toronto, for TWENTY successful HAHD events! :)
On Friday Sept. 9, 2016 we had a total of 5 volunteers facilitating a lunch meal service at the Yonge Street Mission’s Evergreen Centre for Street-Involved Youth (11am-2:30pm). Thank you to Sarah, Andrew, Devon and Christina for all of your efforts for the clients of the youth centre.
Together we prepared, served and cleaned up following a meal service for ~80 youth! Thank you so much to all involved for not only making this month’s event so much fun, but for always being such a supportive and recklessly optimistic crew! Your assistance today was so appreciated!!
This last event for me as City Captain is totally bittersweet, but I am confident that as my life grows and evolves down a new path, this group will also continue to evolve and thrive under new leadership. Don’t forget to contact Helen at volunteer@hartomedia.com if you are interested in taking on the role of City Captain in Toronto. Thanks again for all of your support for #HAHDTO along the way. :)
Join us for our next event on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 11:00am-2:30pm at Yonge Street Mission’s Evergreen Centre for Street-Involved Youth (381 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M5B 1S1)!
Evergreen serves food to approximately 80 to 100 street-involved youth daily. For this event, we will be helping their staff to prepare and serve a warm, nutritious lunch to clients and assist with clean-up afterwards.
There is a maximum of 5 volunteers for this event. Please ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete registration. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
To indicate “Going” on the Facebook event page is not enough to confirm your spot. ****Please also contact me at hahd.toronto@gmail.com with your full name, age, preferred email address, and phone number. I will then provide you with any additional forms and instruction.****
*Please note that if we are unable to reach the minimum group quota of 3 volunteers, the event will be cancelled. The centre requires volunteer info well in advance, so please register early!*
